Commission Activities and Services
Liaison between government and farmers
- Lobby Government to make legislative changes and develop programs
beneficial to the industry
- Support the Canadian Cervid Council (CCA) in addressing national
issues
- Work with Government and other interest groups to open markets
nationally and internationally
Education and liaison between farmers
- Advises members of any changes in regulations or issues concerning
the elk industry
- Educates producers in best practices and most efficient production
methods
- Hosts an Annual Convention in March
- Administers and implements Velvet Antler Removal Certification
and Standards
- Chapter meetings provide an opportunity to meet other producers
in your area and learn more about the industry. Each Chapter has
a representative who sits on the Board of Directors
Insurance
- Offered to all members through Cooperator's Insurance.
Research
- Provides funding and support to government research centres, universities
and private researchers for projects that will benefit the elk farming
industry.
Animal health
- TB testing protocol
- CWD surveillance program development and implementation

Advertising and promotion
- Annual Elk Expo Competition
- Brochures and publications
- Display booths available to all members
